Avionics Software & Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer
We are looking for an Avionics Software Engineer who will not only develop safety-critical embedded software, but also take active ownership flight test instrumentation and data readiness.This position is perfect for you if you want to contribute to a clean sheet composite aircraft design.
Main responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain embedded avionics software for flight-critical and mission systems
Contribute to avionics and software architecture, including partitioning, interfaces, and data flows
Develop software in accordance with CS-23 certification objectives and DO-178C-aligned processes
Support SIL/HIL testing, bench testing, and on-aircraft testing
Develop and manage software requirements, traceability, and verification artifacts
Support system safety activities (FHA, SSA, DAL allocation) in collaboration with systems engineering
Contribute to certification planning and evidence generation within an EASA Part-21 Design Organisation
Design and configure flight test instrumentation and onboard telemetry systems
Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot sensors and data acquisition hardware
Support flight test operations, including real-time data monitoring via ground stations
Operate and maintain telemetry links between aircraft and ground stations
Post-process and validate flight test data
Your profile:
Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar
3–7+ years of experience developing embedded software for safety-critical systems
Proficiency in C/C++ (or equivalent low-level languages used in avionics environments)
Strong understanding of requirements-based development, verification, and traceability
Experience working close to hardware, sensors, or real-time embedded systems
Experience within an EASA Part-21 Design Organisation
Familiarity with DO-178C
Experience with avionics buses and protocols (e.g. ARINC, CAN, SPI, I²C)
Exposure to flight test, ground test, or aircraft integration environments
Experience with data acquisition, logging, or instrumentation systems
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Safety-oriented attitude
Work in a structured and organised manner
Able to take initiative, ownership and responsibility
