Airframe & Interiors Lead:
We are looking for an experienced Aerospace Engineer to join our team and take a leading role in the development and certification of Noemi’s composite airframe. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of airframe design, structural analysis, testing, supplier sourcing and selection, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. This role is perfect for you if you love to toggle between hands-on technical tasks, business functions and leading a small team of awesome people.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of the composite airframe, including fuselage, wings, empennage, and control surfaces.
- Ensure that airframe designs meet regulatory requirements.
- Conduct structural analysis and simulation of the composite airframe components.
- Identify areas for structural optimization and weight.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for composite airframe components, materials, and subsystems.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with selected suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and conditions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance and addressing any issues or concerns.
- Prepare and submit certification documentation, including compliance reports, structural substantiation data, and test plans.
- Coordinate with the certification team to address any airframe-related issues or concerns raised during the certification process.
- Oversee the manufacturing of airframe prototypes, working closely with the manufacturing team to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Plan and execute airframe testing programs, including ground tests and flight tests, to validate design performance and safety.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and members of the airframe design team.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment where team members are encouraged to share ideas and contribute to the overall success of the project.
- Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and coordination.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft airframe design and development, preferably within the CS-23 category.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and finite element analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Nastran).
- Strong understanding of aircraft certification processes and regulatory requirements, particularly CS-23 airworthiness standards.
- Experience with composite materials and manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead a small team and collaborate with cross-functional groups.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive, results-oriented approach to project management.
